Native Plant Landscaping

Using regional native plants in your landscaping creates valuable habitat, food and pollen sources for your local fauna and adds to the diversity of species in your area. Choose native plants with your local provenance. Look at natural areas in your area as clues to what to plant in your yard. See also the links below as a starting point. Native plants growing in your region will thrive in your yard when planted in similar soil and climate conditions.

Why Native Plant Photography?

Native plants are my passion. Our natural areas are losing their identities with the introduction of exotic and invasive plant species, and human disturbance. As a society, we no longer know what our landscapes used to look like. I strive to photograph the native (indigenous) plants and their communities in the northern midwest region of the United States and Canada.

My photographs are available for sale as prints as well as for use as stock photos for print or electronic mediums.
